If you are reading this, you may have received a letter or text message from the practice regarding Inclisiran.
Inclisiran, as you may be aware, has been used to assist in the treatment of people who have vascular disease, cardiovascular disease or have had events such as stroke & heart attack.
Inclisiran works alongside statins or other medications that patients are taking to reduce their cholesterol but in a different way. It essentially increases the amount of receptors the liver makes which means it captures more LDL cholesterol and thus reduces the risk that the cholesterol can cause any harm.
How often would I need to be given Inclisiran?
Inclisiran is given as a single injection when you start treatment, then 3 months later. Then continued every 6 months
